Truck drivers who sit directly above the front axle of Isuzu trucks will appreciate this new medium-duty spring application. Because the Isuzu truck features a low cab forward design, it maximizes cargo space, but has a jarring ride.
The company, SuperSprings has developed SumoSpring, an airbag like application (without air), that is said to improve the ride and reduce side to side body roll. This spring is composed of a proprietary microcellular urethane so the truck’s suspension gets extra support only when needed. Each SumoSpring can be compressed by eighty percent of its original height with full memory rebound. This ensures better durability and performance as compared with rubber products.
This new Spring is called P/N SSF-601 and comes mounted on an “L” bracket that attaches to the truck using two existing holes in the frame. Installation is under an hour and consists of jacking up the truck’s front to install the bolts through each SumoSpring bracket.
